Dr. Shaw checked out my feet and ankles this morning and said the swelling still looked normal. I told her about the bruising and numb toes and all, still nothing to worry about. My BP is great, so there doesn't seem to be a medical problem. She also did the Group B test, which is just a quick swab to check for any infection that could affect the baby as he comes through the birth canal. Those results will be back next week. If there is any infection I would just be put on antibiotics to get rid of it before it's time for him to make his appearance. Dr. Shaw said his estimated 6 or so lbs right now is average, just toward the upper end of average. So, there is no reason to think they'll need to get him out of here early. As much as I'm ready, I guess that's good - every extra day he has in here will make him more prepared to be out in the world!
Last night the choir had a party for me at church after choir practice. They had all gone in together and Cindy picked out stuff I still needed from my registry. Becky made a cake which was great! What a blessing - less baby items to pick up before Braylon gets here!
We're on the home stretch now. I've made a list, a running list I should add, of all the stuff we should do before D-day. Still don't have the hospital bag packed, but it's a must do for this week! Here's a pic of the cake Becky made for last night and a frame from today's ultrasound. It's kind of like a 'Where's Waldo', if you will. Do you see his face? The top of his head is on the right, his right eye is at the top, nose in the center, and the mouth to the left of that. The left side of the face is sorta distorted toward the bottom of the picture. Amazing how it used to show his whole body in the frame of the ultrasound, and now his face takes up the whole space!
