36 week update - Everything is normal

Last Friday I went to the doctor for my 36 week visit. Everything is normal – if I heard it once, I heard it 1,000 times! That’s good, right? Well, yeah, except I’m so ready to have this baby – it would be a little bonus to find some reason to get him on out of here!

I had gained 4 lbs in the last week! I was shocked when I saw that scale! My blood pressure was a little higher than it usually is – 112/60, but still really good on average. The baby’s heart rate is still good in the 150s. Dr. Shaw looked at the swollen feet and ankles once again and said ‘well they’re not getting any worse’. Yeah, well, she doesn’t see them in the evenings! And they’re not getting any better either! The swelling still appears normal to her. So I’m thinking…4 lb gain in one week, BP a little higher, feet the size of clown shoes, oh and protein in the urine (apparently another signal) and a big ‘ole baby…Preeclampsia anyone?!? Apparently not. Nothing is abnormally high enough to go down that road yet. It’s all still ‘normal’. Guess I’ll have to wait it out still. They will not induce without a medical reason before 39 weeks. I am sooooooo ready!

In the mean time I’m doing what I can. Worked in the yard a little and I’ve been up and about doing things around the house, despite the swollen feet. Last night I taught my last Body Pump class before baby. I’m not on the schedule for the month of April since I could go at anytime. The swelling always goes down while I’m exercising. So if I can keep them from swelling too much during the day to get into tennis shoes at night, I plan to do some walking around the neighborhood.

Braylon is still active. His movements just aren’t as big since he doesn’t have much room now. His little head is either smashing on my pelvic bone or smashing on the bladder. There’s usually a big hard spot somewhere in the middle of my tummy where he sticks his butt out. And then the feet are either poking out of my side or sticking up under my rib cage. I think sometimes he’s trying to poke a hole and get out. See…he’s ready too!

Here are the 36 week pictures. If you look close you can see the feet and ankles are a bit swollen! Next doctor visit is the end of this week. Cross your fingers that the next blog has pictures of baby…outside of mommy!
